We at My Chic Nest love love love COLOR. So we couldn't contain our excitment when we learned that another one of our favorite interior designers and fellow color enthusiast, Amanda Nisbet has published her design book tittled Dazzling Design. Just from the cover alone, we can tell this book is full of beautiful and colorful interiors. Here's some inspirational rooms designed by Amanda. Be sure to get your hands on a copy of her book!

This sunny retreat is all about mixing soothing colors and using them in new treatments.
My Chic Nest's Zia Bench, $285

This is a peak inside the room that Nisbet designed for a show house. Here she opted for bold and graphic wallpaper paired with traditional wood paneling and gilded mirrors.

Now this is sophistication glamour! How chic is that fabulous velvet cobalt blue sofa!

While Amanda is known for her bold color choices, here she plays with a more soothing color palette of whites and creams. The end result is effortless serenity that does not skimp on the glamour.

Amanda designed her own den with color in mind! She went bold on the walls with lacquered citrus green walls, and paired the vibrant hue with patterned pillows and rug. We are loving this unique color combination.

Would you be brave enough to have fuchsia walls and upholstered chairs in your dining room? If it looks this spectacular, maybe it's worth the risk! After all, design is about embracing your vision and taking chances.

This is the living room in Nisbet's own New York City apartment. As refined and beautiful as the space is, it also exudes a lived in and inviting quality, which makes us even more in love with the space.

Amanda designed a guest room/office space with vibrant tones and graphic printed drapes. The end result is a relaxing yet functional retreat.

Our Design crush of the week: Kelley Wearstler

Kelly Wearstler, Inc.'s bold and eccentric design aesthetic makes her one of our favorite interior designers working today. Her interiors, which often pay homage to the Hollywood Regency style first popularized in the 1930's, always look effortlessly glamorous. Kelly is not afraid to embrace color, prints and patterns, yet her designs never feel forced. That's why we were thrilled to learn about her fourth design book, titled "Rhapsody." "Rhapsody" showcases new, never before seen interiors designed by Kelly, as well as behind the scenes shots of her design process.  In this album, we showcase some of our favorite rooms that Kelly designed, as well as several of our own inspirations from Hollywood Regency style. We hope Kelly would approve.

The Color of 2013: Emerald!

Pantone has announced the color of the year for 2013, and the winner is.....EMERALD. This vibrant hue is radiant and lustrative. We have seen emerald popping up in the fashion and design worlds for some time now, so it comes as no surprise that it has officially been named color of the year. Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of Pantone Color Institute, the team behind the decision, had this to say: "The entire green family has been so strong, upcoming through the '90s as we're paying attention to nature, so the family isn't new, but what we needed to look at and revisit was the psychological background: Emerald is such a balanced color, and balance is something to pick up on and listen to. It's a color of growth, renewal, healing, unity and regeneration -- words we're all so in need of at this point in history". In celebration of emerald, we have compiled a selection of our favorite rooms that house this vivacious color, as well as some of our own furniture upholstered in tones of emerald.

And don't forget, almost all of My Chic Nest's furniture, can be customized in emerald!

This room is a true homage to emerald. We love the daring and chic high gloss emerald walls and ceiling.
Now this is a dramatic entrance. We are swooning over the tufted emerald piece of furniture that anchors the entire grand foyer. And we are awe struck by the dazzling chandelier.

This velvet sofa looks just divine and oh so comfy!

Love how this famous wallpaper's oversized palm leaves become the main focus of this powder room.

This is Tory Burch's chic home, featuring emerald walls.

If you're not sure you want to paint all your walls in this green hue, a great idea to embrace emerald is by painting one piece of furniture. Here the color pops on a dresser.

Talk about loving emerald! This bedroom is soaked in this lush color. Everything from the wall treatment, upholstered bed, and tufted bench is emerald! We love this bold statement.

Now this is a colorful bedroom. We love how this green shade pairs beautifully with coral tones. Design is all about taking risks, and this room shows the benefits!
