The Color of 2013: Emerald!
Pantone has announced the color of the year for 2013, and the winner is.....EMERALD. This vibrant hue is radiant and lustrative. We have seen emerald popping up in the fashion and design worlds for some time now, so it comes as no surprise that it has officially been named color of the year. Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of Pantone Color Institute, the team behind the decision, had this to say: "The entire green family has been so strong, upcoming through the '90s as we're paying attention to nature, so the family isn't new, but what we needed to look at and revisit was the psychological background: Emerald is such a balanced color, and balance is something to pick up on and listen to. It's a color of growth, renewal, healing, unity and regeneration -- words we're all so in need of at this point in history". In celebration of emerald, we have compiled a selection of our favorite rooms that house this vivacious color, as well as some of our own furniture upholstered in tones of emerald.
And don't forget, almost all of My Chic Nest's furniture, can be customized in emerald!
This room is a true homage to emerald. We love the daring and chic high gloss emerald walls and ceiling. |
Now this is a dramatic entrance. We are swooning over the tufted emerald piece of furniture that anchors the entire grand foyer. And we are awe struck by the dazzling chandelier. |

If you're not sure you want to paint all your walls in this green hue, a great idea to embrace emerald is by painting one piece of furniture. Here the color pops on a dresser. |
