This year has really seemed to fly by. It's hard to believe that the holiday season is already upon us. One of our favorite elements of the holidays is seeing all of the beautiful decorations that people incorporate into their homes. What is your holiday design style? Are you more of a traditionalist who favors a green tree with multicolored ornaments? Or are you drawn more towards a white tree, with silver and gold accents? We have compiled a bunch of our favorite holiday interiors as well as our top ornament picks to get us all in the spirit.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Chic Bright Floors

The ever resourceful blog, Apartment Therapy, recently featured a story about the impact of a painted floor. (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/color-underfoot-bright-wood-floors-179039) While many people shy away from using a bold floor in their own homes, we couldn't help but be inspired. Would you ever consider using a bright hue or a dramatic design on your floors? What color most inspires you? We've compiled our favorite photos of chic interiors that incorporate this bold design trend. We think these inspiring spaces will make you consider living more colorfully.

The Impact of Books

One of my favorite ways to bring character and uniqueness to a room is with books. Shelves filled with your favorite books is one of the chicest ways to make your home feel warm, inviting and lived in. One day I hope to have a glamourous library, with floor to ceiling bookshelves that require one of those chic vintage ladders that slides across the length of the bookshelf. The blog Habitually Chic (http://habituallychic.blogspot.com/) recently posted photos of some of their favorite book filled spaces. Here are a few of their top pics, as well as some of my old favorites from the vault.

Design Feature

We are absolutely thrilled to learn that the latest issue of Decor Magazine (Fall/Winter Issue), features the design work of My Chic Nest's Anna Kohler

The latest issue of Decor Magazine featuring the work of Anna Kohler

The condo featured in this magazine is located in the heart of Minneapolis. The desire to create a light and etherial color palette is where it all began. This soft backdrop allowed Anna to bring in bolder elements through art, pillows and other designs.

Anna pairs nearly black stained wood floors against Benjamin Moore's Super White paint. This bold juxtaposition makes the space feel fresh and etherial yet fully balanced. Drama comes in the form of a crystal chandelier from ABC Home as well as traditional dining chairs upholstered in unexpected chocolate brown mohair and adorned with nail heads.

This bedroom is by far the girliest room in Anna's apartment.  The geometric pink drapes by David Hicks frame the high windows, and bring the eye closer to the ceilings. The bed itself feels quite masculine, with tufted back and neutral color pallet, which make for a perfect balance to Anna's more feminine coral throw and ikat pillows. This room is all about femininity, but does not lack the sophistication.

The Power of Gray

Gray has become a staple in interior design. The neutral hue pairs well with other basic tones like black and white, but can also play as a soothing backdrop to brighter pops of color. The blog Made By Girl, recently posted about the prevalence of gray in design, and we think some of our products would fit right in with this soothing design trend. My Chic Nest's Sheila Headboard

The Sheila is sophisticated and feminine, without any unnecessary frills. Its elegant lines are timelessly chic.

My Chic Nest's Kate Headboard

The Kate includes tufting detail and chic scalloped border, which makes for a classic and timeless design.

My Chic Nest's Brett Headboard

If Don Draper had a bed in his office, this would surely be his headboard! We took a page from the sleek minimalism of midcentury modern design with this headboard, highlighting the clean lines and sophisticated simplicity of the era.

My Chic Nest's Jared Chair

The stately silhouette of the Jared gives this piece a weighty comfort and sophistication. Sitting low to the ground with wide cushion, the Jared commands any room.

My Chic Nest's Jaime Chair

The Jaime is as versatile as it is handsome. The sharp geometric lines of the stainless steel arms and legs are perfectly juxtaposed with soft upholstery and cozy cushions.

My Chic Nest's Sterling Sofa

We have studied the sets of Mad Men to create great pieces like the Sterling, a modern take on that imitatable 1960's mod style.

Lisa Vanderpump is on the move

We at My Chic Nest can't get enough of the over the top glamour on Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Our favorite housewife is by far Mrs. Lisa Vanderpump. She can be outspoken but her fabulous British accent makes everything she says seem glamourous and sophisticated. Speaking of glamour, we recently came across pictures of Lisa's new mansion on Material Girls Interior Design Blog.

Lisa Vanderpump

Talk about curb appeal! Love the dramatic windows and glass entry.

The Entry feels very Lisa, with light hues, draped fabric and antiqued mirrors.

We love the mix of deep chocolate wood floors with pristine, bright white wood trim.
We at My Chic Nest are big fans of anything tufted, so these traditional sofas feel effortlessly chic to us.

The dining room feels like the perfect setting for a glamourous dinner party. Love the chic silk tufted dining chairs. Check out the beautiful crystal chandelier!

This is one of the girliest-grown up bedrooms we've come across in a long time. Ken definitely lets Lisa take the reigns when it comes to making design decision. Love the soft pink hue on the walls paired with the silk tufted bed with mirrored paneling.

Now onto one of our favorite rooms in the mansion...Lisa's enormous closet. This bright and etherial space feels more like a high end boutique. Love the matching chandeliers that balance the space.

Look at Lisa's incredibly collection of jewelry. If I didn't know any better, I would say some of her babbles look like fabulous costume jewelry, but something tells me this is the real deal.

Now that is a lot of Chanel! I'll take one of each!

And the grand finale. Absolutely stunning!
